See if you’re ready for dog ownership with Paws & Think.
In this fun app, you are given a virtual dog to look after for one week. During this time, you’ll be given various real-life scenarios to see how prepared you are as a first-time dog owner. At the end of the week, we’ll calculate your ‘Suitability Score’ and advise if you are ready for a dog or not.

HOW IT WORKS
To start, choose from a selection of drop-down answers and tell us about your background. We’ll ask you questions about how many people you live with and how often you work to help us to better understand how a dog slots into your lifestyle.
Once that’s filled in you can choose your new dog. Simply select from a range of breeds and toggle the colours to find your perfect pooch.
Now is when your trial week begins. During this time, you’ll receive pop-up notifications on your phone when your dog needs care, so be sure to be alert in case your pooch needs you.
As with real dog ownership, you’ll need to be prepared for day-to-day activities, such as when your dog needs feeding, along with the unexpected, such as if they are taken ill and need to visit the vet. How these notifications are dealt with will affect your overall ‘Suitability Score’.
At the end of the trial week, you’ll be given your score. Scores are calculated through an algorithm, of which considers all aspects of your trial period, including what you’ve submitted in your profile. The final result will show if you are ready to be a responsible dog owner.
